Interview with Nadia Keshwani

In May, Nadia Keshwani joined Physio Excellence. With her extensive training in pelvic health  and orthopedic physiotherapy, Nadia is a great asset to the team and already a much-loved practitioner amongst patients. In addition to her work in-clinic, Nadia is also a clinical researcher and we are so glad to have her as part of our family. We wanted to formally introduce you to Nadia through this “get-to-know-you” interview. Enjoy!

What drew you to physiotherapy as your chosen profession?

I fell in love with this field at a young age; I used to receive physiotherapy treatment myself! For me, the best form of job shadowing was actually being a patient.

What do you love most about your job?

I love being able to see changes in my patients' symptoms and function in response to treatment. It's the most rewarding part of my job.

How does your interest in research inform your practice?

Being both a clinician and researcher, I find that my research informs my practice, and vice versa. My connection to academia allows me to keep up-to-date with the newest and most effective treatments, which I then can integrate into my practice.  I'm also more analytical in the way I approach treatment.

What fact about the human body, or your areas of specialty in women's health and orthopedics, most surprised you when first learning about physiotherapy?

I often get told by my patients that they had no idea that pelvic health physiotherapy even existed! Well health care professionals (myself included) are in the same boat. Future physiotherapists don't typically know about pelvic health physiotherapy until they get exposed to it during their professional degree. When I first learned about pelvic health physiotherapy, I was fascinated with the idea of being able to help a population whose needs are often ignored.

What do you hope you are bringing to Physio Excellence?

Passion! I love what I do, and apparently it shows.

And we are passionate about the good work Nadia does.If you would like to meet with Nadia to discuss your health concerns, please contact us!
